Amani Kinyua

The Driver
Amani Kinyua, 15, taught himself to race in rental karts during South Africa's COVID lockdown — and hasn't stopped winning since. A dual citizen of Kenya and South Africa, he joined a structured team and racked up 20+ wins and podiums between 2022 and 2025. That run earned him the Green Protea Jacket, South Africa's national honor for official representation in professional sport.
In 2025/2026 he moved to the UAE to race at Senior level with George Gibbons Motorsport, winning in the IAME Series and taking podiums in both the IAME Series and the Rotax Max Challenge (“RMC”) — and standing out as one of the few Black African drivers racing at that level in the region.
Next up: in the 2026/2027 season is a title push for UAE Senior karting championship, a shot at the IAME World Finals, select CIK-FIA Karting rounds in Europe, and his first steps into single-seaters with Formula 4 testing.
